Homage To 66

In 1966, Mini Coopers took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the famed Monte Carlo Rallye. However the French did not want that to stand and wrongly disqualified the BMC team, putting a Frenchman on the winners stand. Even he refused the prize because of the injustice.

It's not historically accurate, as i do not believe that the cars were this close at any time during the race. It is a homage after all.

I love your composition. Really really nice. I didn't know the story until now. Doesn't sound like good behavior on their part. Thanks for the story and the art. Beautiful!

Had the BMC Cooper team won it 66, it would have been 4 years straight. They won in 64 & 65. The French were bugged, as were some others that this little car was killing all the giants. After the 66 travesty, they won again in 67.
